Every 4th Friday of the Month
This is a virtual conversation and a safe place for individuals from the community to login, ask questions and learn. Buoy borders, banning books, and other outright oppressions - September Month Dialogue
These past few years we’ve seen attacks on women’s reproductive rights, gender affirming care, drag shows, immigration, books, workers' rights, and the list goes on and on. This is nothing new by any means. Police brutality continues, hate crimes continue, and fear-based leadership continues to dominate. So why do people continue supporting oppressors? Why do leaders who are criminals and who unapologetically use hateful rhetoric continue to be elected and placed in positions of power? As providers, educators, parents, organizers, we need to be united regardless of the cause. Your oppressive cause is mine and mine is yours. Oppression begets oppression. Join us to discuss: How is one oppression intertwined with another? What is intersectionality? How can we build a community for sustainable solutions against all oppressions?
