Introducing YWCA’s Executive Director

Naya Diaz comes to the YWCA with over 18+ years of social justice experience in both the nonprofit and social impact sectors with a specialization in transformative leadership and human resources. Most of Naya’s career has focused in serving marginalized communities with ongoing efforts of impacting immigrant and low-income communities. She has 10+ years in HR management and talent acquisition directorship.

Naya started her nonprofit career in the Rio Grande Valley where she served in several program and leadership roles empowering families and children in over 100 colonias.  She later emerged as an Executive Director in Houston in the legal immigration nonprofit sector and subsequently moved to Central Texas to help lead medical programs in Honduras and Nicaragua. Over the last decade, Naya has been a leading nonprofit consultant statewide with an emphasis in organizational strategy, fund development and advocacy related campaigns focused in immigration, human rights, and social and economic justice.

Naya has bachelor of science in Medical Anthropology and bachelor of science in Philosophy from the University of Texas Pan American. She has completed academic studies in Mexico and Morocco and native fluency in English and Spanish; and conversational fluency in Arabic and Italian.

YWCA Greater Austin has been under Naya’s leadership since September 2019. Today we are honored to officially announce and welcome Naya Diaz in her role as our Executive Director!
