Thank you for Amplifying Our Mission
At the heart of every YWCA is the demand for a world of equity and human decency. As a collective 203 organizations nationally, we envision a world free from injustice. During this holiday season we celebrate our voices rising together, honoring the over 160,000 community members in programs that tackle racism and inequality – because the future deserves all of us.
Here at the YWCA of Greater Austin our clients demand justice in a thousand different ways. We address the root causes of gender and racial injustice from the personal to the professional and institutional. At the YWCA a family can break the cycle of violence by developing coping skills and tapping into personal resources to leave an abusive relationship. We assist survivors of trauma begin their journey towards healing and re-establishing a sense of safety as they seek justice. Every day, we bear witness to a survivor’s dignity, and celebrate their victories.
But we don’t do it alone. Our power comes from the 6,500 women and girls we serve annually, and it comes from our bold, passionate donors who are equally committed to our work of justice. Your support throughout the years has amplified this work and we Thank You for standing alongside us and those we support everyday!.
For Maria, a sexual assault survivor, transformative justice was not simply found through the legal system. For her, transformative justice is realizing she passed the second anniversary of her assault. Transformative justice is getting the support and help needed to cope with the trauma and healing. Transformative justice is being an advocate for others.
Please consider a holiday gift of $50, $100, or $500 by December 31st and stand for justice. With your support, we will continue to work tirelessly until institutions are transformed, until the world sees women, girls and people of color the way we do: Equal. Powerful. Unstoppable.
